For me personally, I would like something off my registry--you can order it online and have it shipped directly to them--nothing to carry around an airport!

I was registered on Amazon.com, and the items I wanted most were books. And a guitar.

Gifts are for showers. Cash is for the wedding. The happy couple will need it to start their new life together.

the gifts that i'm looking forward to getting the most are new bedding and towels, you can never have too many of them. my dream wedding gift would be one of those kitchen aid stand mixers with all the crazy attatchments, like the one to make your own pasta, and i think they have an ice cream maker attatchment too. i would LOVE to get one of those, but i'm not going to hold my breath for it, it's pretty expensive. cash and gift cards are always welcome too!

To be totally honest, I want absolutely nothing! I am having a destination wedding and people showing up is gift enough for me. Even if we were having it local, I wouldn't want anything. My FI and I have been together for a very long time, and don't need anything so, again, just having people there is gift enough for me.

It is the sad truth, but I would rather have a gift certificate or money. We are fortunate enough to already have a house and the stuff to go in it. It would be more worth it to us to receive something we could put in the bank for our future, or a gift card we could use at our convenience. You can't really register at Chase bank for the wedding but I wish you could LOL! If it is a young couple (early 20's), then they might be able to use the stuff they registered for....but everything I had on our registry are just fillers, things we don't really need and will only take up space in our closets (I even registered for a $1200 hot tub just for fun and I too want a $200 Kitchen-aid mixer;) but it is an unspoken rule that you have to register somewhere I guess..it is the first thing people ask when you announce you are getting married. I will be grateful for whatever we get, I just wish it wasn't rude to ask for what we really need. Good luck to you!

Besides cash, I thought my most appreciated gifts were my flatware and everyday place settings...it felt so special to eat on actual "grown up" dishes, etc. Other than that, our bed linens were fun to receive!

I'm sorry, but I think cash is always appropriate.

Honestly, the most boring thing in my registry is probably the thing I'll be happiest to get. I think people (myself included ) pick the fun gifts from a couples registry, but it's really the stuff that we NEED that I'll be happiest to get, like a vacuum cleaner.

I really want one of those kone hand vacuums, or a set of monogrammed towels, or a juicer. I don't think any of the places I'm planning to register carry monogrammed towels, but they have everything else I need to register for. Anything personalized with my new married monogram would be an awesome gift. Pillowcases, towels, blankets, stationery, etc. I love gifts with a personal touch like that. We also really need nice sheets. The ones we have are basically bedding hand me downs, and I'd love a nice set of 400 thread count Egyptian cotton bed linens. Other than that, my fiance really wants to register for a Wii, because he thinks that would be a way for us to spend fun time together and its the only video game system he's ever seen that requires the people playing to be active. Good luck shopping and have fun at all those weddings!

The crazy stuff. I put a lot of the spa section from bed bath and beyond. The Polynesian Spa CD, massage oil, foot spa, bath salts. Things like that. I would love to get some of that stuff. The other thing I would love to get is some books for some of the stuff. I got a wok now I wish I would have gotten a good wok cookbook. I love smoothies. I'd love some stuff for smoothies. My husband wishes we'd gotten some more of the camping stuff he put on the registry. Also, the funky outdoor stuff. Like the tiki bar stuff. Outdoor glasses, mosaic table, large towels for laying out. The rather cheesy stuff we put on their that no one ever thinks about getting for a "wedding" is actually the stuff we used our gift cards on.I got a friend some tiki torches, citronella oil, and plastic hurricane glasses and they repeated talk about how that was one of the best gifts they got. Since you have a rather large budget--you can get a lot of lil items. I recommend getting them a whole bunch of the $3 items off the registry. The ice cream scoop, garlic press, egg slicer--those are never given by anyone. Or somethings that really suit their lifestyle (if you know enough about them to know what they enjoy as a couple). A couple recipe books is always great for a new couple. You could get a meal set. I love the Rachel Ray 30 min meals. Then you could get a Food Lion gift card, oven mitts, silicone pans. My husband was in LOVE with the silicone pans we got.The only $100 item that I really really wanted was the George Foreman grill with the 6 interchangeable plates. It has a temperature dial that helps when cooking fish. We use that thing nearly daily. Most people don't REALLY want the china off the registry. But I think a big collection of items is much better than 1 $100 item.
