|
|
A few years ago, I invited a co-worker to my wedding. She attended with her boyfriend and gave money as a gift. She is about to get married soon. It will be a very small ceremony with immediate family members only. As a result, I am not invited. We've been good friends and have hung out after work a few times. Am I obligated to give her a gift even though I wasn't invited?I forgot to mention that if I do give a gift, would it be inappropriate to give less than what she gave?

You're not obligated, but since she's your good friend it would be nice to reciprocate.

Since she gave you a gift and you are friends with her then yes you should give her a gift not cash but a present.

In this situation, it is totally up to you. It doesn't sound like you've been excluded personally, just that she's having a very small wedding.

If you feel you should go on ahead. If you dont dont give them one. If she didn't invite you there probably is a reason.Or maybe she forgot to invite you.

I think it would be the right thing to do. Maybe there was a specific reason why you weren't invited, you never know the circumstances. Giving them a gift would show that you still want to be friends.

Youre not obligated to do anything, but a good gesture would be to get her a card and put like $30 in it....

NOT OBLIGATED, however you said it yourself... she attended YOUR wedding, you've hung out, become "GOOD FRIENDS"... so what does your HEART tell you? Tells me that YES you SHOULD get her a gift or money in a card ---anything else would be heart LESS.

You have a choice to get her a gift. MONEY is the best gift so they can start off a new life fresh!
