I'm going with my boyfriend of almost four years to his brother's wedding. The bride and groom are like family to me, and we want to do something special for them, but we're students with hardly any money. They already live together and have all the typical newlywed stuff like toasters and wine glasses. They already have the money to buy anything they want anyway, and gift cards seem lame. Ideas, please!

make something. a painting or a collage of pictures. maybe a photo album or a scrapbook. something that you put your heart into, not your wallet.

Gather up old photos of both of them from when they were young until now and make a slide show with music and stuff. It costs almost nothing, just scan the pictures and make a dvd.

What about a bottle of champage with their names and the date engraved? Something they could share on their first anniversary or at another special time in their lives.

A gift card to their favorite restaurant. This is always a nice gesture. Or an American express gift card so they can use it on their honeymoon!

If you guys have silly senses of humor, take their photos to one of those morph places. Have their pictures morphed into what their future offspring would look like. Those are hilarious! On a serious note, they know you are struggling with money, so I think a nice home cooked dinner with candles and a bottle of wine to toast them with sounds nice. Best wishes!

Do you have any special pictures of them or mementos they would enjoy? Putting together an album for them is super cheap and usually more appreciated than something you could find in the store, anyway. The best gift I ever gave was a talking photo album I found. You were supposed to record things about each photo page. Instead I got all the close friends at this girl's graduation party to record a personal message to her. Years later, it is still one of her most prized possessions, because it is one of a kind. Don't know if you could find something like that, but who wouldn't love that kind of gift?

Buy them a star. It's called starresgistry.com. You can pick a constellation, and a star, to name in their honor. It's really cool, my hunny did it for our anniversary. It think it's the cheapest one is $54 bucks. I know it sound like alot for a college student budget, but they'll remember it forever.

Put together a spa kit. Complete with Bubble Bath, candles, Bath salts, wash cloths, lotions and massage oil. It is practical and something they can use to treat themselves and help relax after the wedding! It is actually cheaper to put something together by going to Big Lots Walmart or Ross or the dollar store than buying it. I suggest going to Ross first, they have neat baskets and boxes and you can find some spa stuff there. Other than that I have always had luck at Big Lots finding nice looking stuff and use Walmart to fill in what you don't have already! Or you can make your ouwn Bubble Bath and Bath Salts and all. Good luck!

Have a copy of the invitation framed for them. Add a matte that is coordinated with the wedding colors, for a little something extra.

Give 'em a card which says that you'll take them to a lake and go tubing or something to that effect. If they love you, they'll like that more than anything money will offer.

You could donate a little money to a charity that would be special to them.

Buy them a U.S. flag that was flown over the U.S. Capitol! You can order one to be flown over the Capitol on their wedding day, and it's around $20.http://www.usflag.org/capitol.flag.html
