He's picked up the phone and called in flowers but never gifts or a cake. I'm feeling slighted since he's making an effort to personally go pick up a cake. Would you feel slighted and why? He's the boss btw and he's picked up the phone to order flowers for BD but no gifts and no cake. Should I feel this way? Slighted, sick and heartbroken?Yes, she's a woman.HE'S THE BOSS, she's the supervisor. IT's a LARGE Corporation. He could of got his assistant or some other person to pick it up, but didn't.

Don't get all frustrated behind cake. Just tell your hubby you will be expecting a cake on your birthday.

Hecy yeah, I'd be upset. He is obviously making this person a priority with something he has never done with you who should be number one. He should never do for someone else something he is not willing to do for you.

Over a cake??? No. If he kisses the supervisor, now you have a problem. Remember, he gave you his life. Somehow , cake doesn't seem relevant here.

Be thankful that you at least get flowers. We`ve been together 30 years and I`ve never gotten flowers or a card let alone a cake.

What do you have for birthday cake if your husband never gets you one? Does he even know that you want one? Are you always on a diet? Maybe he doesn't bring you cake because he thinks you won't want it. Also, what do you get for birthdays and christmas? You stayed with the guy for 17 years and he's never given you a gift?

Talk to hubby don't get mad, men are slow sometimes, maybe you could mention how nice it would be if he was to do it for you one day. Explain how you feel a bit ripped off because he doesn't put in the effort for you may be he will get it Good luck

there's no reason at all why you should feel slighted, get mad or feel jealous.....he's the boss and in the position to buy cakes for his staff if he chooses, however he could have and should have had someone else do it. But, maybe the company is a small one or maybe nobody else wanted to do it and he owed that person something (for doing a good job all year), and it surely is a heck of a lot better than buying them a present.

I think it's jealousy that you are feeling - he's doing something for someone that he has never done for you. I doubt he thought of it on his own, someone at work probably suggested it to him so he ordered a cake for everyone to eat at work. A lot of men don't think about things like that. I have to flat out tell my husband when I want something because he just doesn't think of it - why? Because he doesn't need it. Men and women think differently - neither is wrong, just different.Tell him that you would like a cake for your birthday, too, and remind him as the date gets closer. It's just how men are, okay? Don't take it personally.
