Your front door key cut in silver - in case she ever needs a shoulder to cry on.

You can get a silver picture frame w/ their names & wedding date engraved. Or a quilt/throw w/ their names/date stitched in. There are places in malls or online but anything engraved would be the way to go.

There is a site called, ThingsRemembered.com, that have the most beautiful wedding gifts that would no doubt be something you are seeking. I see you are from GB, or where you use other than American dollars, but you could go on the site and at least get some ideas. My daughter gave her brother a beautiful "throw", (woven blanket) with his name, his new brides name, the date they were married embroidered on it from this company. They really loved it and keep it as a keepsake so they may have it to pass on from generation to generation. There are other items that would give you ideas on this site as well.

I would suggest making something such as a scrapbook - I'm sure your friend will treasure it. Make the pages colourful and make sure to include lots of photos to bring back memories of the two of you, and put lots of your favourite things. You could also write her a lovely letter to say how proud you are and happy that she is getting married, and you could put this in a beautiful envelope stuck to the last page as a sort of 'end-of-the-chapter'. You probably won't spend your entire budget on this, but the time and effort you put in won't go un-noticed. Some great places for craft supplies are Hobbycraft, ideal world, paperchase and even Stationery Box now has an extensive line in scrapbooking / card-making. Be creative!!!!! The best part is nobody will ever have the same wedding gift as her! Good luck x x x

What you should do is get her something that she might like. What animal she likes as a statue or get her some jewellery. If you still have no idea go ask her fiance what he might get her

SHE wants something to treasure for life? Interesting hint! How about a slideshow of her and her fiance to show during the dinner hour? (of course, clear it with her first) Or, a scrapbook which is only half-done: you write the titles and lay out the pages, and she fills it in with photos and other scraps of their engagement/wedding planning. For example, one page could go like this: "Our Engagement" and under this you write the following and leave spaces for her to fill in: "Location""What he was thinking""What I was thinking""Who we called first"
