I got flowers from my (ex) husband. It was all we could probably afford at the time, but I have heard of jewlery being given. Especially a charm bracelet, with a special charm for each child.

no, I was lucky to get a christmas or birthday gift either. Had he been a man of substance he would have brought me something personal, like jewelry, (even a Moms necklace or a Mom's ring with the baby's birthstone in it).

I have 4 children and my husband never gave me anything at the hospital or at home for the birth. Friends and family did, however and those gifts were addressed to either me and my husband or to the baby. I don't think that he should have.

For the birth of my first son, my husband gave me a three stone aquamarine ring set in white gold. (Aquamarine is my son's birthstone). He actually bought it before my son was born. I was scheduled to be induced and when we got to the hospital, they had so many women in labor, they didn't have a bed for me. They told us to come back in a few hours, so we went to the mall to kill some time. hee heeFor the birth of my second son, my husband bought me a ruby (my second son's birthstone) pendant. |

He gave me my sons, the most precious gift I've ever gotten. I gave him the same thing.I didn't give him anything else, so why would he? I mean it'd be super sweet, but not necessary at all. My sister turned into a drama queen when her husband didn't bring her a present, I was embarrassed for her. She came across as greedy and shallow.
