For starters I was going to buy her some of her favorite candies; her favorite jelly beans, favorite beef jerky, and maybe even pick out her favorite jolly ranchers out of the bag.But I also wanted to get her something a little better than that.a) for the past couple months she has been talking about buying some new shoes, so I am thinking since she has not bought any yet it may be a hint. Gift certificate to her fav shoe store?b) she has talked about buying some new clothes; gift certificate to her favorite clothing store at the mall?c) she is an artist and she recently spent 80 hours painting me a nice painting with an expensive frame, which she rarely uses on her paintings. She gave this to me for free. SO I thought maybe something like a gift certificate for art supplies. Her dad seems to always buy her something related to her art for b-days and christmas which she seems to like.I want it to be somewhat of a romantic gift but also useful.

Get her something that means something to you. if she really loves you shel understand. If you think thats being selfish, so be it.

Why not just get a gift certificate for the mall itself. That way she can get shoes or clothes or whatever else she may want Personally, I don't think a gift certificate is very personal. You should know her well enough to be able to pick out something she likes.

A gift certificate for art supplies sounds like a great idea! It's very personal. If you did the shoe thing, i wouldn't get her a gift certificate. I would take her to the shoe store, and while you're there she can pick out shoes. If you wanna spend like 15 more you could take her to get her nails done to show off in her new shoes.

I would get her a few new paints, brushes or a cool frame plus a gift certificate. I personally love having a little something to unwrap!!!

not too be rude, but gift certificates are not really romantic. Look at her art stuff, what brand of paint, brushes paper does she use, get her some more stuff. Don't be afraid to pick out clothes for her, especially if you know where she likes to shop. I am sure you know her size. Remember, it is the thought that counts.........

Buy her a gift certificate, but do something romantic with her. Like give her kisses to the age she's turning. Perhaps take her an art museum?

I think you should give her a romantic day...take her to her favorite spots...or you could have a picnic in the park, go to an amusement park, take her to a nice restaurant. If you know of a place with firework shows (that would be super cute!) or a drive in movie place. The whole day could be deticated to her. I think that would be more romantic and sweet than buying her shoes, etc. Hope this helps!

Okay, the candy thing is okay.. as long as your girlfriend is comfortable with her body, and it won't come across like "are you trying to make me fat?" Now, the gift certificate thing.. hmm.. for most, that can come across as a last minute type of gift. Why not get her fancy paint brushes with her name carved into it??

beef jerky! LOL!gift certificates aren't romantic at all, but they are useful. Make sure to get her a nice card, and write something sweet in it. And you could take her to dinner as well. Maybe along with the gift certificate, you could get her a necklace or some earrings. I don't mean like diamonds and gold, just something fun like the stuff they sell in alot of women's clothing stores.
