Does anyone know whether the FFLEP (college student loan) $300 gift cards that came in the mail are legit?

I read articles about the FFLEP being in trouble, and that the $300 gift cards are for answering a survey saying the loan program was good and helpful etc. I don't know if there is a class action suit regarding this or if the gift cards for answering questions in a postive manner are legit? Has anyone else had any experience with these?

Hmmmmm....I don't think so. I have not heard of this - at least through our financial aid office. I'm pretty sure it's a scam.Actually...I just found this article:http://www.thebostonchannel.com/newsarchive/13672456/detail.htmlSo, yup, it's a scam.If you haven't done so already, complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) so your EFC (Expected Family Contribution) can be computed. This is what the schoo will use to determine what types of financial aid you are eligible for in addition to whether you would get the Subsidized, Unsubsidized, or a combination thereof. More information regarding the Stafford Loan program can be found at www.finaid.org/loans.Talk to a financial aid officer at your school for more information/guidance!Good luck!

Uh...the person above already has a bunch of school loans--that is why they received the card in the mail in the first place...doesn't need a website for more, folks!!! And the link to the article...the card isn't a scam, just the company issuing it is in violation of certain laws...the cards work, if you answer the survey questions over the phone.
