Good Grief...someone has two much time on their hands...Some of this is true, but a lot is not or only 1/2 true and would depend on the circumstances.Everything we do is based on bible laws and principles. So here goes...1 - 4. Yes5. No..144,000 have been chosen since Penecost 33 C.E. , so no they are not all from modern day J.W.'s.6. (see answer to #5)7. Yes, we feel we have found the truth, but doesn't everyone of other religions feel the same? Why would we be a Witness if we didn't think it was true?8. Yes9. No. All of hope of the resurrection here on earth if they are in God's memory.10. Everlasting life is a gift from God. But to have his approval, we are told that "faith without works is dead" James 2: 26 "without faith it is impossible to please God" Heb 11:6 If someone has true faith, they will have works to go along with it. So just saying you believe in Jesus is not enough to have God's approval, you need to show him that you believe in him by how you live your life.11. Zephaniah 2:3; Ro. 6:2312. We are to Jehovah through Jesus name. John 14: 6 & 1413. Yes14. No. Going to 4 year college, living in dorm is not encouraged due to bad association.15. Yes. After Satan hurled to earth Rev. 12:1216-18 Yes. Whole world in power of wicked one. 2Cor. 4:4 1 Cor. 10:20; 1 John 5:19; Rev. 12:1219. Yes. Acts 15:20 & 29; Gen. 9:3-5; Lev. 17:11; Eph. 1:720. If someone may have to take anothers life, then they would want to question that profession.21.-22 Yes, we are neutral in political matters.23. No. This is up to an individual. They may want to question who the money is going to.24. No. No one is forced to go to a meeting. But we do want to follow the bible advice at Heb 10: 24-25"not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together as some have the custom."25. All had the opportunity to stay and awake and pay attention to the signs of the times or the lords day.26. We are advised at 1 Cor. 7:29 "marry on in the lord." Marriage is hard enough without different beliefs. It is encouraged to follow this command. 27. No. Only a baptized witness that has been disfellowshipped is shunned until they are reinstated.28. When you say Christian literature?? There are books on regarding religions that we would read.29. It is discouraged, due to the amount of time it takes away from serving Jehovah and the bad association.30-31. Yes. Due to pagan origins.32-33. Yes. We are told to be "no part of the world." John 17:1434. Not true. If a murder case, we might not want to be in a position that we would be giving the death penality.35. Not true. This is up to each ones conscience. It would depend on where the money is going. 36. True. Other than business.37. True. If at all possible, we do not accept.38. We are encouraged to read the the bible daily. Even in Brooklyn it is on the Watchtower building to "read the bible daily".39. Many understand portions, but do they all accurate knowledge? John 17:340. Jehovah directs his people by means of his holy spirit.41. True.42. True. Why would we were a cross if we don't feel Jesus died on a cross.43. This is to make sure preaching work is getting done. Matt 24:1444. No. If we can, it's good. But many can't due to work45. Not true. We always want to remember 1 Cor. 15:33"Bad association, spoils useful habits." Limit association with those of different faiths.46. Not true. I call most by first name, unless they are older, then out of respect I call them brother or sister..47. What??? Not true.48. Not true. They are bible study aids used to dispense information. But they are more knowledgable and spend their life studying the bible. 49. Not true. I know of cases that have been reported. My father was on one back in the early 80's that was reported to the police.50. Not true...Most conventions are only three days. Most people are off on the weekend. So it's not a big inconvenience to get one day off. And in most cases, they are within driving distance.51. No true. If someone is going to pioneer, they would want to consider a bigger car, but it's still their decision.52. I believe that would depend on where you live. If it's extremely cold. The brothers may have a beard. It's how they are viewed in your region of the world.53. Yes. 1 Cor. 11: 14 "man has long hair, it is a dishonor."54. Yes. This shows proper respect for headship arrangement.55. This would be a conscience matter. How will it be looked upon and would you stumble someone. Lev. 19:2856. Yes. Harmful to the body. Our bodies are a gift from God and should be treated with respect. Rom. 12:1-257. No. Heb 13:458. It is not "secret" but confidential. If someone is practicing something scriptural wrong, they will met with them to see if they can reason with them and see if they are a harm to the congregation.59. This would be a conscience matter.60. Why would we want to?61. Animals are not under the law to abstain from blood. They eat other animals. If someone is a pet owner and it bothers their conscience, then they should not go against their conscience.62. Clubs?? Many are members of Gyms. Sports would be the same as cheerleading. It's the time it takes up (many practice every night M-F and many games on on meeting nights.) Then the bad association. 63. What? With any jewelry, I would think it has to do with what design it is, more than the type of jewel. Jehovah created the stones.64. If it is just a scriptural quote and not conflicting with our beliefs, then it is up to each ones conscience. Most don't listen to gospel music. It would depend if the song is in conflict with our beliefs. 65. What's christian jewelry? Cross? No we would not wear a cross as stated earlier or any symbol for anything that could be considered idoltry. Ex. 20:4& 566. Not true. Many have windows. Some don't even have glass in the windows in hot countries such as Africa.67. No. If you see someone doing something that is of a serious nature. Drugs, etc. you would speak to them first and encourage them to get help from the elders. If after some time they do not, then you would speak to the elders so as not to be a sharer in their sins and to keep the congregation clean. Or if it is a minor, you would speak to their parents. 68. He did have a choice.69. He paid for our sins at his death.70. No. They are not foretelling prophecies, but with the help of Jehovah's spirit, they are staying away to understand the prophecies and how they are being fulfilled.71. Husband is the head of the wife. 1 Pet. 3:1; Eph 5: 22 & 2372. We pay our taxes in whatever country we live in. We do not get involved with politics or military. Mark 12:17; John 17:1473. Before becoming a baptized Witness, must study the bible with the help of bible study aid. Need to have a basic knowledge of what we believe.74. Not true. It's usually three different elders will split up the questions and do them individually. This is to make sure they are ready and they do have a basic knowledge of what we believe.75. It applies to the whole world. The wild beast, the harlot, Babylon the Great, 144,000, great crowd.76. No. We should honor our parents everyday. Worship of the mother would also stem from worship of Mary, which stems from paganizm.77. Not true. Many have benches. Many Kingdom Halls were once in buildings that had been a prior church. Pews aren't very comfortable, especially for older ones.78. Yes. Satan is the god of Good Luck. Is 65:11 79-80 Not true. Jehovah is both those things.81. They are the "faithful and discreet slave" providing"food at the proper time." Matt. 24: 4582. Not true. All who ask for help by means of God's holy spirit will receive it if they also act in harmony with what they pray for.83. This is only for those with a heavenly calling.84. Yes. Just as the passover was once a year.85. Not true. My mother saw a shrink back in the late 60's due to lossing both her parents as a preteen, living with relatives..she had some issues to work out. It's not always the answer, but can help some. It did not help my mom. The shrink told her to have an affair???? Thankfully, she didn't.86. True.87. Not true. Our loyality is first and foremost with Jehovah.88. As a man, Jesus was equal to Adam in that he was perfect. The only other man to ever be perfect. Of Jesus is far superior as King of God's Kingdom. Adam no longer exists.89. Not true. Satan will be let loose after 1000's years for a final judging of perfect man. Rev. 20:7-1090. That is up to Jehovah. Ro. 6:23 "wages of sin is death."91. Not true. Prayers heard if pray the way we are told to pray. Ps65:2; Acts 10:34,35; Luke 11:2; John 14:6, 14; 1 John 5:14; 1 Pet 3:12; 1 John 3:22; Is 55:6&7; Why they wouldn't be heard: Matt 6:5 & 7; Pro. 28:9; Mic 3:4; Jas 4:3; Is 42:8; Is 8:19; James 1: 6 & 792. True. Everlasting life is a gift from Jehovah.93. Anyone not on Jehovah's side, will be destroyed. There are only two sides Jehovah's and Satans.94. True. This is a superstitution. Acts 17:2295. Not true. Some may view historical bldgs. Attend a wedding or funeral according to their conscience.96. True. If it is just that a church service and not a wedding or funeral according to their conscience.97. True. All are violent sports. 98. Not true. It would depend on what the play is about and the time it takes away from our service to Jehovah. 99. The blood is true. Organs are a conscience matter.100. Not true. There are questions from the readers in the back of all watchtowers.101. That would be a conscience matter.

consider any number I don't mention to be true in my experience.3 no Jesus is considered the very first being ever created by God.14 college is seen as less important, especially for girls, but since they still need a job.. 15 kinda no.. they feel it's the beginning of the end of times.. 16 they are not considered antichrists, just poor souls mislead by the devil.20 I think you can actually..23 don't know about the cookies.... if it's related to another religion in some way probably not..26 you can but it's problematic and every effort would be made to convert the husband and if he didn't convert it would become a very difficult situation (enough to put strain on any relationship... ) I think it'd torpedo most relationships but you wouldn't be excommunicated for it. (and I have actually known a few witnesses who had a non witness husband or spouse)28 you can read literature from other religions.(especially if it shows you how wrong everyone else is..)29 I don't know.35 I don't know.39 they figure that anyone who truely studies the bible and understands it will convert to JW, if you don't convert that means you didn't understand it.. 40 nope no angels that I ever heared of but I could be wrong..42 I can't think of ever having seen any Jehovah's Witness wear a cross but I don't think it's forbidden, it just doesn't make much sense to them to put faith in an "idol" like a cross.45 yes you can but again it's not recommended and if you do they tend to hope to convert those that are your "worldly" friends.. (see the husband situation..)47 huh?48 no but they tend to train you to go from door to door to teach (convert) most of the things the people will say at the door are things I could litterally recite, there is a special class for it (theocratic school), I defenitely consider it an indoctrination and other possible explainations/views than that of the official doctrine are dismissed by using bible passages etc. in what I find to be an out of context way, but that's my view.49 yes this is true, don't know if this is still like that but they defenitely like keeping things "indoors", especially things like incest that for the longest time they believed didn't happen in "the Truth".FOR TRK: I am writing from personal experience here. I'm sorry but yes they have most defenitely tried to cover up abuse, I am glad there are some other, hopefully better responses to cases other than my own but I am far from alone where people did try to keep it inside the congregation rather than having them turned in to the police like they should have, this includes certain elders I'm afraid..50 it'd be frowned upon if you didn't but that's about it I think.51 huh?52 yes they can.53 no musts but peer pressure tends to be pretty strong so if everyone has short hair to make a more "postive impression" how long do you think it'd take you to go get it cut?54 headcovering of any kind will work, it's to show they have respect for the men.55 see the long hair comment (no 53).57 if you mean by that that you're still not allowed to mastrubate even when you're married yes that's true and sex in marriage only but they don't tell you what positions you can use.. lol (as far as I know they don't hand out any karma sutra manuals at the wedding)58 I don't know about the secret file bit.. the rest is true.59 I don't think so.60 yes you can especially if it's really off the wall so you can talk about how rediculous it is.62 yes you can.63 you made that one up didn't you?64 yes you can65 but if you were a JW you probably wouldn't do this one.. and I doubt the "brothers and sisters" would find it in good taste if you did.66 yes they do I have cleaned them many times.67 they'd investigate it, but you won't get any tied to the chair bright light in the face etc. 69 he was born the son of God but lead a normal life untill 30 when he was babtized and learned who he was and what his purpose in life was..70 don't know whether to say yes or no.. they defenitely believe their truth is the only truth.. (when you talk about another witness a common term is that he or she is in "the Truth")71 submit how exactly? in JW women are subservient to men, that part is true.72 probably not as you don't vote, go into the military, politics or anything else that interferes with being a Jehovah's Witness.73 and attend meetings, make any changes in your life needed (quitting smoking celebrating holidays etc.) attend bible study groups and go from door to door (under guidance).. there is a pretty large requirement before babtism which is only performed for an adult btw.76 or any other holidays like christmas easter halloween your birthday etc.77 they have chairs, some might even have tables now i don't know but well you're NOT standing..78 nope.79 yes he is.80 yes he is.81 nope but they feel they are the only ones who understand the message.85 yes this is sort of true.. they pretty much prefer to keep any outside world out.88 Jesus was considered to the balance for Adam's imperfection, the man that stays true where adam failed but Jesus is no ordinairy man.. (see the son of God bit)90 I don't think so, everyone who doesn't die during armagheddon does get ressurected to have the chance to change their ways, after that there is a second (and final) judgement.91 nah.92 sort of true but salvation was crucial as well.93 yep.94 I was never corrected for it..95 untrue96 also not true97 probably true98 not true100 you're actually supposed to (but imho only so you can come to the conclusion that you were wrong and how they were right to begin with, it actually reduces the chance you'll actually question your faith if you think about it..)101 this just isn't true.I have written my answers from what I remember growing up as a Jehovah's Witness. Most of the teachings and beliefs of Jehovahs' witnesses are identical but there might be some minimal variations like being able to join a drama class or not would be up to personal conscience.. anyways I hope this helps you set the record straight. I would like to mention for completeness that I left because I feel Jehovah's Witnesses are a brainwashing cult, mostly by controlling:a) sources of information that are -deemed trustworthy- (pretty much only their own) b) your circle of friends (predominantly Jehovah's Witnesses) c) your surroundings.. (a good chunk of your time would be spend in the kingdom hall, at the bible study group, going door to door, or studying the books and magazines for the next bible study etc. add in visiting with (your witness) friends and there's not much time left to do much else or even really question anything, is there?) It's very hard to ever "convince" a Jehovah's Witness they are wrong on anything to do with their beliefs. They feel you as a non witness are unknowingly influenced by the devil to lead them away from the truth, so any challenge to their faith is seen as a test to overcome. They're waiting for Armagheddon to come at any day now and being so close to salvation the very thought of falling into the devils trap to lead them astray has their life depending on it.. is it any wonder frustrated non-witness family members often feel like they are completely not reaching their witness loved one??Jehovah's witnesses find any research that contradicts what they believe flawed. If it's something they agree with however it's something they "knew all along" and *proof* of their devine guidance by God (they believe they are God's chosen ones). When you become a Jehovah's Witness everyone in your congregation would be nice to you (as much as humanly possible), you spend large chunks of your week (life) with them (I used to spend at least 3 nights a week on congregations and several mornings door to door as a kid) You're discouraged from having friends / contacts "outside" (aka worldly) as they are under the influence of the devil (without realizing it).. it's not forbidden but when everyone is nice to you, seems to value and understand you etc how many other friendships and family ties (that are disapproved of) do you think would remain after a bit of time?? You go out from door to door a minimum of several hours every week to be an active member (the "work" is very very important) to teach people what has been taught to you over and over.. any job you have would have to come second to God's work.. if there is a conflict between "worldly" affairs and your religion then the religion comes first, to the point that parents would rather see their child die than receive a blood transfusion and face rejection by God himself for both their child and themselves (yes that'd be grounds for excommunication)... these people become your life, your family, your everything... you live your life by a very rigid moral code (where you can only hope for God's merciful kindness for every little thing you do..) with rules and regulations that are very inflexible, waiting for armagheddon, worried about the people you might know and love that you'd believe would die in armagheddon any day now (how exactly do you cope with this? pressure anyone?).. with the only people who understand to be your fellow "brothers and sisters", this becomes your whole life from a to z ..Now imagine for a second what it means to be excommunicated from this, that those same people who valued you and loved you etc suddenly won't even talk to you anymore? that's the power of a cult and defenitely a certain amount of mind control there .. and IMHO Jehovah's Witnesses are very good at that..I hope anyone hereby has a clearer view of Jehovah's Witnesses and their beliefs.Good luck.

About a third are outright wrong, about a third are distortions of their actual beliefs, and about a third are close enough to avoid any real effort to refute.Learn more:http://jw-media.org/beliefs/beliefsfaq.htmhttp://watchtower.co.uk/e/jt/index.htm?article=article_08.htm

I would love to know why this list keeps being recirculated on here just to be shot down.I will take a few. Number 85 is funny, as I myself have done this.As for 86, ONLY Jehovah has veto power as it were, to decide who goes where.Number 98 I also have done.Honestly most of these are what are called half truths. I know that one time when someone put up this list they tacked on, You cannot use aluminum cans. I think that just goes to show how out there the list is. I would say maybe a forth of these statements are true, or partly true.
