What should I do?

I'm currently working for a man who owns a couple businesses. Since he seems to not trust anybody, he refuse to allows anyone in any of businesses to be the top person or anything. The highest anybody could get to is basically a small team of two or three consultant position who also supervisor the business. But none of us have any real authority or decision making ability or anything. The nearest thing we can do is to get other to agree then discuss it with him.But if he feel that someone is trying to get any higher, he'll get rid of that person.Odd thing is, beside above, he's incredible good to all of workers. I love my job, I work at a day salon he owns. I'm basically a supervisor for that salon along with one other girl who work there. I make about 55K a year plus bonus. Also we regularly get a small bonus such as gift certificate, bottle of good wine, chocolate, or other thing. Not long ago I got a Prada sunglasses as a prize for worker of month. We also get 25 days ofvacation a year and a week off for xmas.But I have been wanting to get another career or try to start my own business.But I'm afraid I'll not make as much and I really doubt I'll get all ups that he have to offer. Also I really enjoy the people I work with and I'm happy with everything. I also really like my manager since he's so good to everybody. I just want to have my own business or chance of getting higher position.But I don't know what to do. Is it possible to find any other career that offers what one I have does now? Is it bad if I stay with this one for rest of my life or not?
