|
|
I am spending this Christmas with my aunt and her grown children and their families. This means a present for 3 couples, 2 single women and several kids. The gift ideas for the kids and the single women isn't a problem but for the 3 couples it's a little harder. They all have one thing in common. Anything they want, they get. My budget is not a large one either. I was looking at the coffee grinders and thinking of making each couple a basket with a grinder, whole beans and a flavored coffee syrup. Does this sound ok or just another useless gift? If you have any other ideas, they would be greatly appreciated.Already gave them gift cards to the movies last year.

No, most people don't like flavored coffees and we all think its a crappy gift when we get it cuz we just have to throw it away! Maybe gift cards for a movie rental store or local movie theater. Couples like an excuse to watch a movie together!

You always give some money in a card. Then they could pick out what they want

I think candles are a wonderful gift to receive and give to couples. Scented, romantic, stylish sets for display, etc. There are soo many varieties allowing you to personalize the gift to the couple.

what about a dinner out for them? massages for each? I am with the people who said movie passes....... if they have kids, maybe you could offer to babysit while they go to a movie, eat out, get the massage, etc......... I know as a mom of four kids, FREE BABYSITTING is about as great as any gift!!

I'd be thrilled with the gift you suggested. Candles are a nice gift but I'm afraid the males wouldn't be as thrilled as the ladies. Again, I think your idea is great.

I give my couple friends games. Also, my hubby and I have received lots of games as a "couple gift" and realy like them. There are lots of fun games that adults like such as Trivial Pursuit, Texas Hold'em sets, Scateggories, Scrabble, Deal or No Deal, Pictionary, cards, dominoes, chess, etc. So, while you're at the toy store shopping for the kids, go to the game aisle and take care fo the adults too! One stop shop! Good luck.

If you have photos of them, you could think about caricatures of each couple. These are fun, and are a great talking point not only when given, but for them for years to come. They are not that expensive either.
