|
|
| I'll be buying Christmas gifts for my parents in the next few days. I think I'm going to get my mom a gift certificate to a day spa for a full body massage (one hour) plus a 20 minute reflexology foot massage. Do you think that's a good gift? Now my dad is a little harder to buy for. I usually get him a Circuit City or Best Buy gift card, but I want it to be more personal this year. He's really into electronics, but anything I would buy, he would already have (that's why I get him the gift cards). He's also really into watches and clocks, and for Father Day, I bought him a really nice Fossil watch, so now, I'm thinking maybe to get him a clock for his desk at work.I found this onehttp://www.thingsremembered.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_560812_-1_1?fcref=And I think it's really cool. We would have the top engraved with something like "Thank you for always making time for us. We love you" and our names. Do you think this is a good idea?If you have any other suggestions, I'm welcome to them! Send links if possible. Thank you!Well, the reason I am thinking a massage for my mom is because she is very stressed out. She works full time, and is currently in school pursuing her master's degree. So I think anything to destress would be ideal for her. |

| I think both ideas seem very good! I don't really know what else to suggest, since you know your family more than anyone on here, but I think if you go with both of your original ideas, your parents will be very happy. |

| That sounds really nice...the only thing I can think is make sure your mom is ok about being touched by strangers....I wouldn't mind the body massage, but I have a weird foot thing and it would be torture for someone to touch my feet! She might something personalized too, like maybe an ornament for the tree. Just a thought! Good luck! |

i think both ideas are great. the clock is great too. its something your dad will always remember. and maybe you and [if you have siblings] them could make a scrap book. parents seem to love those. you guys can put pictures of you guys when you were little, with you and your parents. things like that.hope this helped |

| Both lovely, I couldn't think of anything better. Very thoughtful and memorable. I'd love a massage, but my obvious hints are going unnoticed! |

| I think the idea for your mom is great! The clock is a good idea too. You could make your dad a gift basket with some DVDs, a box of popcorn, and other things for a movie night considering he likes electronics. Or you could get him a subscription to a magazine about electronics. Good Luck! |

| Maybe your mom and your dad both would think this is a neat gift idea:http://www.smartshopperusa.comIts a device called the SmartShopper. It automatically creates a grocery shopping list. You stick it on your fridge, and whenever you need to add something to it, you just speak into it. It recognizes your voice and cataegorizes the items. Then you print it off, and go to the store...pretty cool, and also kind of a gadgety thing that isn't really necessary, but that's what makes Christmas fun! |
