Do chocolates from a man synbolize "I love you" to a woman? And what about it just being a gift on a regular day - not Valentine's, not birthday, not anything - just because you want to. What does this portray to her?

My girlfriend says that it means that he is interested in her, and wants to get down her pants.

I think it's a considerate thing to do. To me, chocolates on Valentines or Birth days are simply gifts, because it's almost expected on those days. But a gift of chocolate on another might say to me that you were considerate of my likes, and it's nice that you were thinking of me today. Especially if they're not in a big red heart box |

There are 5 "love languages"1. Quality time2. Gift giving3. Words of Affirmation4. Acts of service5. TouchEveryone has their favourite way of expressing love. Chocolates would be "gift giving" and more important to a gift giver than other ways of showing love. Giving chocolates to a girl on an ordinary day would probably be more special than giving them to her on a special occasion.

This is age old. Bringing gifts. It's what men do, they provide. The better the provision the better shot he has and chocolate is usually seen as a pretty good (universal) provision. Doing it just because you want to is even better than a specific day where you have to because it shows you WANT to provide for her. But do it too often and it's needy, socially akward and uninteresting. She wants feel as though she is winning you over and that results in gifts. So what does it symbolize? A relationship.

When you go into a shop or pay for petrol/gas buy a bar of chocolate, a packet of lollies, bag of chips (whatever she likes) as well and give it to your loved one when you get back into the car, this means alot and shows you care...... HOWEVER, don't make the mistake of doing it all the time as someone can come to expect it and not be grateful, be spontaneous and keep her surprised at your gifts.

She's special, you care about her, you thought about her, and love her and gave her a gift on a non-holiday just because. You're v. nice and considerate. Way to go!
