Asked me what would be the best way to let the guests knowto bring a gift, to display on the gift table. I have no real clueother than just to be blunt about it. Is there a better way?

You tell your friend that the people's attendance IS the gift. It is never proper to ask for gifts. If someone ask you, it is good to offer suggestions of what to bring, but to ask, or worse, tell people to bring presents is not proper etiquette.

I believe that you can tell them on the invitation that at certain stores there will be a gift register book for the occassion.
