knitting a baby shirt is a good idea. You can always go to youtube.com. There should be a video there to teach you how to knit. If not you can always look it up on google. There should be many websites on that subject. You can also make him a family scrap book aswell. that is a very good idea. Then he will have family memories for years to come.Goodluck Smile

If you know how to crochet (I can't knit to save my life, not really), some baby booties would be quick. If you can't knit or crochet, you could buy some blank cotton baby bibs and stamp some nice decorations on them with acrylic paint. If you can sew, you could also sew a small soft pretty blue border or crochet one.If you don't like any of our suggestions you could make and print out some coupons, like, one that is good for a back rub for the mommy (we get back aches from all the baby carrying), another coupon for Mommy's Day Out, where you babysit for one afternoon. I bet you could think up lots of coupons, like Good for Sweeping and Mopping the Kitchen Floor While You Put Your Feet Up coupon.Another coupon can be: Good for bathing the Dog! :-DYou could take a pretty card stock paper and decorate it,, so that she can put it on the fridge or somewhere close to the phone, with emergency numbers of her husband, her cell phone, poison control, police, what the baby eats, his schedule... I'm sorry, I forget what these boards are called, but I bet you get my meaning! You could start a scrap book for her, with a pocket for baby's first hair trim, first tooth (transparent pockets), making sure the outside is in colors that your cousin likes.I guess I'm writing out all of the things I wish I could have had. Anything you handmake for her will probably be great!Hope this helps!

Super quick, cute, and easy! Make one of those two sided fleece baby blankets. All you need is scissors or a rolling cutter and cutter board and the fleece. It is no sew.Or try a baby diaper "cake". EVERYONE loves diapers and everyone secretly wishes they'll get a year supply of them. lol. Trust me.

If you would like to knit baby a sweater, why not google for the Five Hour Baby Sweater? While even I can't really knit it in 5 hours (and there are lots of versions of it, btw), it can easily be knit in a weekend and it's very nice. I usually have one around for a quick gift, or the yarn to knit it with. You could also make some quick cotton knit bibs, of which the simplest ones are a simple garter stitch square with ties at two corners. Corner to corner washcloths are good to have too, and quick to make in cotton as well.

You could make a three tier diaper cake. Purchase size 1 or 2 diapers, small rubber bands, cute ribbon, maybe some onesies, baby washclothes, socks or trial size hand sanitzer, bath wash, etc. You will need to purchase a cake plate or take a piece of cardboard & cut out a large cirlce & cover w/ aluminum foil.Take out a diaper & roll it from the fold up to the design & put on a rubber band. Do this for all the diapers & stand them up on end in the form of a cirlce, take the ribbon & wrap around the tier, it helps to have two people at this point. Keep enough out to make the other tiers. Take the extra items & roll up & use as stuffers. You can google diaper cakes so you can get an idea. I don't make mine so elaborate, but it is a good amount of diapers for the baby & some of those extra items that always come in handy. Good luck!
