| i got hired as a government employee..i told some of my goodfriends at work including my boss they were very excited and happy for me..one of my goodfriend gave me some personalized gift and my boss accomodate me on my schedule for me to keep both jobs but unfortunately i only lasted a week(gov. job) coz i failed some test.so itold them i'm keeping both jobs..what should i tell them or what should i do? |

| Well, I guess this depends on what you are planning on doing from this point on. Are you looking for another job or are you going to stay at your current job?If you are just staying at your current job and want to save face, wait a week and then say the govt job didn't work out.If you are looking for another job, use the time that you should be working at the govt job to interview and look for your new job. Either way, you can wait another week, you don't need to tell them tomorrow. |

| Just tell your boss look, the other job didn't work out. Thank him / her for helping and accommodating you but that you would like to have the hours on the schedule back. You don't need to tell them why, you can say it didn't work out because of personality conflict, or something without giving any other detail. Don't worry so much. |

| Well if it was me I would just tell them I am leaving the other job for reasons I really don't want to discuss at the moment. It will be better to tell your boss before they keep asking about how the govt. job is going and next thing you know you have told so many lies you can't keep up with them. |

| Honesty is best, but you dont have to say that you failed the test or anything, just say you quit the other job or that it didnt work out. Im sure they'll understand. |

I would say divorce that cheating...oh wait sorry - I must be in the wrong place ;-)Just kidding - I like reading Married section people's advice, too. You could try honesty but I suppose if you could you wouldn't be asking us. Do you think you would get found out? If not make up some reason why it didn't work out. Better still tell your boss you would prefer to focus on your current job. You felt the government one detracted from it  |

| Well you could tell the truth...You didn't quit, you didn't get fired for lying cheating, stealing or drugs, you just didn't make it thru the training period...The boss that was accomodating to you and you still have deserves the very best you can give him so until you can re take tests or do something different don't lie to your friends they deserve better I guess the world wouldn't come to an end if you embelished on how hard the tests were and for sure tell them you didn't know you had to pass more tests to be fully hired... get this straightened out fast before they hear from someone else... |
