| Something on their registry. It may not be clever or original, but it's something they want. And what newlyweds don't want is crap that they have to put somewhere.Sorry for being so blunt, but that's the best way to go. If you really want to strike up a good friendship, then DO something nice for them. Invite them over for dinner -- or include an open invitation with your gift. Invite them out for an activity. Offer to help move them in (if they're going to start living together after marriage) or to help clean, or fix up their place (if it's a starter home). Get the drift? |

What about a digital camera along with a scrapbook that says "Our Memories." You can write them a card that says something like, "I truly think that you two are the most lovely people. I really want for all of us to get to know each other better and begin a new friendship. I hope that you enjoy the gift...hopefully we can share some nice memories with it..."Or, maybe you can take them away for a weekend, the 4 of you. This way you guys can all get to know each other better. I don't know...maybe the ideas are cheesy, but all I could come up with Hope it helps a little |

| name a star for them, plant a tree the day they marry (in a pot for them).. buy a crate of wine/whisky from the year they marry, then they can put it away for an anniversary. By getting something that will last for a long time you are making a statement on your belief in their relationship and your friendship. |
