Me, I would prefer made because I feel that the time a person takes out of their lives to personalize something is much more special and meaningful than something that was bought. I'm not trying to look down upon store bought gifts because I have bought V Day gifts myself but I just think something that was made (card, picture album, etc) is more meaningful. It comes straight from the heart. What do you think?

Hm...depends. If it was from my child, i'd be thrilled with them making me something for valentines day. If it was from my husband, I might like either. I'm not gonna turn down jewelry =P. But a nice homemade meal or a hand-written poem would be nice too ^_^.

I agree a hundred percent...if its made by hand, even if it isnt perfect of the best there was time, concern and a lot of thought put into something hand made. Like my favorite gift is a glass bottle of stars with ribbon...and I've made a glass bottle full of stars by hand for a friend. And even though it had no use it meant a lot becuase it took time and I really thought about it so it meant more than just something pretty. I prefer home made ...but most people now dont seem to take the time.
