|
|
| so, i had a baby shower on 1/26 and now i'm getting the thank you cards ready...they are all filled out w/ addresses and such and sealed. BUT i just found out that i was suppose to write my boyfriend's name (son's father) too; i just wrote " love danielle"--instead of love danielle and nick.....so do i have to re-do ALL of these cards??background: he was not invited to party, but he showed up later to help load gifts. some cards were address to just me and other cards were address to the both of us---cant remember what card was what though.HELP! |

| You're pregnant, sweetie. I doubt seriously that anyone will fault you for not adding Nick's name to the cards. Most folks are just glad to get a thank you card these days. |

| If you're really concerned, have Nick scrawl a quick PS: Thanks! from Nick on the back of the envelopes. This event was to shower you and the baby with love and gifties - I doubt very much that your friends and family will get hung up on this. (I don't think I included my husband's name on the thank yous for shower gifts...)Congratulations on your blessed event! |

| Well, he IS the father of the baby, so technically the gifts are for you and him. And I'm sure some of his family was at your shower, so if I were you I would take the the time to sign his name too. You might need new envelopes and it'll take some of your time but I think it's important. It will look rude and make him look ungrateful if you don't. |

| Mail them as they are. Most people should understand that you are pregnant and have a lot on your mind. Now, if there were a lot of HIS family members there, I might consider re-writing them. (but just the ones for his family) They would probably be the only ones who said anything about his name not being on them. |

While 'etiquette' might say the proper thing to do is to rewrite the thank-you's to include Nick's name, I am sure all of your guests will not even notice the error. If this were a wedding gift, it might have been more appropropriate to include BOTH names. But at this point in your pregnancy, I'm sure you just don;t have the energy to do it all over again. The reality is that it takes a minute to read, then the note gets tossed in the trash.Best of luck to you |

| Kudos to you for sending thank you cards; so many people just let it go these days. My husband forgot to sign all mine too, and no one noticed. It is kind of a shame for the men, but the pregnancy show is pretty much about you and the baby. I'll bet nobody will even notice that his name was left off. Congratulations on your new little one! |

| No, don't redo them, it's a waste of time. I doubt anyone will say, "Nick didn't sign the thank you card? what a jerk!"...no one will even notice. |

| Huh...I never knew that. I wrote my thank you's from myself -since I was the guest of honor at my baby shower. No one said anything about it at all.If anyone is that stuffy enough to care, then they won't be happy no matter what you do. I wouldn't worry about it. It should be just fine. |
