| When people get married, they get wedding gifts & theres a bridal shower where they also get gifts, mostly for the house. When a couple has a baby, theres a baby shower, where they receive gifts for the baby.If you were a part of a loving couple, getting a house together with plans on having a family, but no plans on getting married, would it be a bad idea to have something kinda like a house warming party, to help you get your new house together like you would with gifts from your wedding??I don't see what the big deal would be, but I'm curious to see what other people think about it. |

| Most people bring a present to a house warming party, they are generally small gifts like a bottle of wine or a a serving tray. Don't expect people to buy or spend the same amount on a house warming gift as they would on a wedding gift unless your friends are really rich. Buying a house is a big commitment but it is not equally important as getting married. |
