Do you think it is rude to ask for monetary wedding gifts?

| Hi, In my opinion it is not rude at all. By the way I am getting married in Aug 2008 and we have put that on our RSVP at the bottom: If are honoured a gift from you we respectully suggest a monetary present. Its not rude or tacky at all. We have to be practical. I rather give money at least they can use it far more better to get whatever they need, instead of giving them something that they wont like at all, its just gonna be more waste of money, but it yiou give them money we can use it with something else.
