Hi. My future in-laws gave my fiance and I, $5K as a wedding gift. They suggested that we use the money on a honeymoon. We are getting married in July and originally were going to Disneyland, CA for our honeymoon..... So here's my question if someone gave you $5K for a honeymoon where would you go? We both have passports and are ready for an adventure.Just an additional note: My fiance is 47 and I'm 35. We have a house that my parent's gave me, 2 cars and 2 motorcycles so we're set for that sort of stuff... we don't want to blow the $$ and may save some for a later trip or things we need (like a new laptop)... but we also want to honor his parent's wishes and have a nice honeymoon -- we are considering Maine (old Orchard Beach), Disneyland, and a cruise or inclusive resort in ??? maybe St-Marten...

Probably I'll reserve it for our future. But if it's intended for honeymoon, I'll go in Tagaytay, Batangas at Philippines. It's one of the best spot I've seen...

The Cayman Islands! They're absolutely gorgeous, the towns are amazingly clean, the sand is like butter, the water is beautiful and clear, the people speak English so it's easy to get around. That's a great and generous gift on their part!

I wouldnt waste the money at Disney thats for sure. I might go to Bali.. you can have a great experience there for 5k. And I dont know firsthand but I hear some places in the Caribbean are nice and reasonable.

Honeymoon? Go to Paradise, Paradise Island in the Bahamas. the place has the perfect name. There is good thought to saving the money but I will tell you to take it and spend it on travel now. Once you have kids it is harder and much more expenisve to travel, you will not have the same sort of trip once you have kids and there is saving for the future, a house, kid's education, retirement and so on and so on..... Now you have the money, the opportunity and the time to travel anywhere you want? You are never going to have this chance again and you are young, unencumbered and in love. People dream about this sort of chance, they write songs and books and moves about it. YOU TAKE IT NOW. Life comes around fast and change hits you before you know it. The future will take care of itself, that is what you work for in life, this money is not going to make or break your future, but it can give you the very best start to a marriage that any couple can ask for. YOu take tha tmoney and go go go until it runs out. God Bless and Best of Luck

why not book a cruise? that way you would be seeing lots of different and exotic places in a few weeks. they are not too expensive so you should have money left over if you really like a place the cruise takes you too then you could always book another holiday after for an extra honeymoon! lol have fun and enjoy x

For me it would have to go towards a holiday in the Maldives, that would be my ideal romantic honeymoon destination.

I would book a cruise. You can actually get some relatively cheap and see more for your money. Also, someone above mentioned the Cayman Islands. I was there in November (as part of a cruise) and it was beautiful!
