I have been considering singing a song to my fiance at our wedding reception as a gift to him. I want to do something personal and he has mentioned to me before that he loves when I sing. I do not think that I am anything too special, but I think that with some vocal lessons I could do a great job. The song I was considering is Christina Aguilera- Save me from myself. We have a friend who plays guitar so I was also considering asking him to play. So any thoughts from guys would be appreciated. Do you think that this is a good idea, would you like it if your woman did it for you? Is the guitar a good plan or should I just use the music? Thank you in advance.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYxmS4UNrWY Here is the video

My sister-in-law sang to her husband at their reception. It was well received and beautiful. She did have a few vocal lessons prior to the wedding. (She performs now and has a couple CDs she's cut.)I think it's a beautiful thing to do, and I bet your new husband will too. Best wishes.

My husband played a song for me on the piano at our wedding. It was so sweet and surprising. He wrote it for me.I loved it but I am a woman so I am not really answering your question . . .

Whatever you do... DO NOT SING!!!!! Unless you sing like Christina Aguillera, DO NOT SING!!!!! He may like the way you sing to him, but that is in the privacy of your own home. Keep that as a special gift between the two of you. What your songs sound like in a private room with only the 2 of you WILL sound totally different through a microphone and in a crowded room.... not a good idea.Men love watches... get him a watch, a nice watch. Every time he looks down to see the time of day, he'll think of you. I think that's a lot nicer than remembering the time you butchered Christina Aguilleras song. You know he'll think about that in a negative way whenever he hears that song on the radio. I'm sorry, not too many people can compete with Christina's voice... especially when it's been professionally recorded. Good luck!!!

I think its an amazing idea. very personal, very touching... my only concern is... the song! That is NOT an easy song. She is actually one of the more diffcult artist out there. Practice, Practice, Practice.... and to see how it sounds on a sound system... might wanna hit a kareoke bar, just once. Good Luck!
