And I know at least 5 other guys that spent under $15.00 a piece, does that mean one poor guy spent at least $540.00?

Sadly, it wouldn't surprise me if some people spent well over $1000.

It's never about the cost or quantity of the gift, it's about the quality and the WOW factor.

I gather there are a lot of guys taking their date out eating and the tap for that can easily reach $80 and up at a nice place. My husband and I made a pack that we do not celebrate Valentines day. I rather be surprised any other day of the year.He broke that deal and came home with flowers. But he still is one of the under $15 guys.

Last I time I had V.D. it cost me a $30 copay to see the doctor and a $20 antibiotic. How did your friends get by at under $15? OH! I know! It's the free Canadian health care!

LOL, I feel for the poor guy! Its too bad that people feel they have to spend money to make Valentines day special. Isn't it about sharing the love, the best way to do that is cuddle up next to your significant other (or crush) and give them a nice little smooch! Nothing better than a kiss from the one you love!

Not necessarily. There are many definitions of "average" One definition is : the most frequently occurring value. We wouldn't say the average shoe size is 8.3454655, the number you might get adding all sizes and dividing by the number of shoes (the mean). There is no such shoe size. But the most frequent shoe size might be 8. We call that mode. Another way :if we line up all shoes (presents) in a row the middle one is AN average called the median.

Well I kinda luck out in this situation because her birthday is two days before Valentine's Day so all she expects from me is a nice dinner (homemade...a rare occasion), maybe a movie, and good company.

My boyfriend spent 156 on some great concert tickets. 16 on a movie and even more on a nice dinner at J. Alexanders. And he also got me some candy. He spent over 200. Some people I know got super nice jewelry. That would be 1000. I wonder if theyre including engagement rings for all those who chose to propose. Those would be an average of 4000.And I think I am very lucky. I just want to say that he didn't have to spend that money to make me happy. He is just awesome in every way
