Yes absolutely. Without the Holy Spirit, a believer is only potentially becoming a Christian. With Baptism of the Holy Spirit, he becomes a Christian. John 3:5-8 clearly states the importance of the Baptism of Holy Ghost. Salvation and redemption is a complete process when Christ died on the calvary. When a person believe in God and confess all his sins, God don't just justify him and leave that person alone. He will then gave the Holy Spirit as the witness of the confession. Just like God did not just bring children of Israel OUTof the bondage and leave them in the wilderness. He gave them the promise land to ENTER in. The problem is whether they chose to accept it or not (Num. 13). A person leaves the bondage of devil is suppose to enter into His kingdom not just become a 'wanderer'. To enter in the kingdom is via baptism of Holy Spirit as in Jn 3:5.

Jesus had been telling his disciples before he was crucified that he would send a comforter. He also told them that if he didn't go away they wouldn't receive something greater than his physical presence. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the fulfillment of that promise, and every believer receives it the moment they believe. It is the indwelling Holy Spirit---through which we know God is real, He never leaves us, and He guides us into all truth. Modern day Pentecostals believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a separate event---one that enables you to speak in tongues and to perform other spiritual gifts. They are flat out wrong. There was a purpose to speaking in tongues---it was so that the Jewish believers could begin spreading the Gospel to the gentiles. People from other countries were hearing Jews speaking the wonders of God in their own languages and they marveled. Take a look at modern day Pentecostals---what language are they speaking besides gibberish? There are cults who practice speaking in tongues, and it sounds just like the holy rollers of today. What they're really doing is something called ecstatic utterance. It's totally fake, and those who practice it are involved in the deepest form of self-deception---and some actually believe that they are speaking the language of Angles---how convenient.

All you need to go to Heaven is to be saved and follow Christ..But as you said, Baptism of water and of the Holy Spirit are the next steps, and without them, you can not fully serve God.

In order to be born of God, you need to be born of the Spirit, which is this baptism..

ABSOLUTELY!Every born-again Believer is to receive the Holy Ghost baptism. Without this "endument of power from on high" Christians cannot completely fulfill the destiny God has for us. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a definite experience, not identical with conversion. When the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is received, unknown tongues will follow. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is given to endue the believer with power from on high; to give and to equip him for a practical, efficient, spirit-filled, soul-winning ministry and service. Inasmuch as this is the dispensation of the Holy Spirit, every believer has a right to expect His incoming to be after the same manner as recorded by the Word of God in Bible days. Luke 24:49; John 14:16; Acts 1:8; 2:4, 38-39; 10:44 -48, 19:6 Keep on asking these great questions brother!Elder Greghttp://www.forministry.com/USOKPENTEMMM1
