I'm 22 years old and I have never had any type of accident, but I just got this brand new car last month as an early birthday/college graduation gift. The passenger taillight and bumper are busted up. I'm scared to tell my parents. I feel so bad and so embarassed for slamming into a non-moving object. Everything that can go go wrong has gone wrong this month (I have mono, etc..) How can I break the news to my parents? I don't have the money in my account to cover the damage right now b/c I missed a lot of work from the flu and mono.

The car has insurance? It's supposed to...so hopefully it would cover the repairs.

accidents happen to everybody at least once in their driving career, just tell your parents and all will work out, I'm sure you have insurance on the car.

the damage is not that big of a deal. tell your parents as soon as possible, they will understand. the damage might only be a couple hundred bucks if you just need to buy parts to replace and not take it to the shop.
