Has anyone ever been to/heard of a "Bridal Registry Show"??? Basically I keep getting a call saying that I was selected to received a free All inclusive vacation and I have to attend the Bridal Registry Show to pick up my vouchers. They are good for up to two years. All I have to do is go to the show and the bride and groom receive free gifts for coming and if the parents come they also receive free gifts. I asked if there was any kind of admission or anything costed and they said no. I asked if it was something like a timeshare deal and they said no, you have to be chosen to attend. She said that someone entered me in the contest on their website. Southern Bridal something.. Has anyone every heard of anything like this??? if so what's the catch??

My fiance "won" a all-inclusive cruise through this bridal show and it was pretty much a scam. We heard form someone else that almost everyone who enters "wins" and you have to sit through boring presentations and they hound you to buy their products before you actually get anything for free.

My SIL went to a show like this and won $500 towards her wedding, but I understand your skepticism. If you get another call, ask them to mail/email you some concrete evidence of this. Have you asked your mom, sisters, friends, whatever if they entered you in this contest? Maybe go to the show, if it turns out to be a scam then its no real loss because those shows can be really fun.

There were bridal shows that I heard of when I was engaged ("bridal show" or "bridal expo" not "bridal registry show" I don't know if there's a difference) where basically a hall or other venue hosting all different vendors to come and set up stations so that brides and grooms walked through and could see all the different vendors in their area. Each person/couple got a door prize (usually something cheesy) and they offered a big ticket prize (like a honeymoon/vacation) for one lucky couple. I would look very closely to the fine print before I accepted the vacation, though!

we won something like this.. the catch is that they make you sit through some crappy presentation of things they want you to buy from them.. you dont have to buy anything but htey want you too.. they will talk to you so that they can convince you into buying something...the trip is free (we got that also) and we didnt buy anything from them..if you can live through 2 hours of crap then you should go, it is worth it in the end... but word of advice.. NO matter how nice the things look.. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING... thats where you will get screwed over...good luck

It's a scam. You'll have to sit through presentations, be pressured intensely to buy cookware or something else that's worthless. Don't go.
