In my culture, we don't hold baby showers and when the baby is born, people come to see the baby and bring gifts along. But now that I have moved and living away from my family and friends, I am just curious to know:If someone does not hold a baby shower, do people give the person baby gifts?I'm not looking for any gifts from anyone honestly, but just curious to know:

One of my friends never had a baby shower, but then the day after she came home from the hospital with her baby boy, people were showing up with lots of gifts, food, etc.It depends on your friends and family that you have around you, and what they want to do.

if you dont have anyone to hold a baby shower for you hold one yourself just tell your friends and coworkers your having a shower and invite them, if you dont want to have a shower then dont some people may bring a gift when they visit the baby and some may not

Yes people do have baby showers and I guess people turn up with gifts. I want a get together with m friends so have arranged a pamper evening. Its less embarrassing than people thinking they have to buy you something and I don't know what I'm having either so buying presents at this stage would be difficult for people!

Normally if you dont have a baby shower you will still end up getting gifts when people come over your house to meet your new baby... This happens throughout a whole month or more... So either way, you're still gonna get gifts. =)
