All of our grooms men are very sporty men. They all play softball together. All except one he is gay. We want to get them a personalized baseball bat. Would it be rude to get 4 of them the same gift and one something else? Or should I find something I can get for all 5 of them?

It would be ok to get them the bats and him something else. Just make sure what you get him is equally as nice and something that is unique to him.Good luck!

I think it would be proper etiquette to get them all the same gift - something neutral that does not leave room for anyone to feel excluded or different.

Gay men like to play softball just as much as straight men. And if he doesn't play softball, he might use a monogrammed bat to fend off homophobes.Seriously, how about something that isn't quite as sports-oriented: A money clip or maybe a gift card to a nice restaurant?

Definitely appropriate to get each individual something personalized to their individual tastes and interests. If you don't want him to be the only one not getting a bat since he doesn't play softball, then find other interests of the other groomsmen.

Why would you give the gay groomsman something different from the rest... just because he's gay??? He doesn't need to be singled out just because of his lifestyle. Treat him as you would the rest of the groomsmen. If your gay friend doesn't like the gift, let him figure out what to do with it.

Either find something that they can all find useful that's the same or 5 different items that would be important to them. I wouldn't single out the one groomsman. We had the same scenario. We found something that they all could use that was the same.

In my opinion, it is better to give them all same kind of gift..if the gayman does not play softball but he probably like to watch the game ....so you can still give them all something related to the game....enjoy.
