that if you register at Target they will not let you return anything without a receipt? Someone warned me about that on a previous question but I didn't listen until I actually went in and spoke with a customer service guy. You can't even exchange without a receipt even if it's on your registry. I know this isn't a question but wanted to offer the FYI because when my sister in law registered there people were really bad at taking gifts off the list and she ended up with duplicates of everything. If that happens to you now at Target you are stuck with all 4 toasters.

Ya it does suck, All the stores are becoming that way and in my town TOY"R"US are the worst about it, if you don't nuy their extended warrenty they won't take it back. they tell you if theres something wrong with it contact the company that made it. So pretty much WAL-MART is the only place you can count on to return gifts or defective items

Thanks for the info. A lot of places are like that now, especially clothing stores. Whereas you used to be able to return things within 30 days, it is not 10 days with a receipt for return or exchange. That's one of the reasons I did my registry at Wal Mart because they will take anything back, with or without a receipt. Atleast the one in my town does.

Yes, they are terrible with returns and also really bad at updating the registries in a timely manner. My friends actually received the stereotypical 4 blenders at their registry. Having purchased one of them I can attest to the fact that it was still available on the registry when I bought it. not sure, how they handled all the returns.

If you don't have a receipt you can only return 2 things a year per driver's license. They suck!

I believe I did read the other post about this. Some guy I think was having some major trouble returning stuff to Target from his registry. I was planning on registering there because I think some of their stuff is a little more classy than Walmart but I am rethinking this now. Glad someone else did post about this, so thanks! I will probably go with Walmart now!

I hate Target---they suck. And they are getting soooo way over priced on their stuff. I'd register somewhere else.

Thanks for the info! My fiance and I have registered there and of course they did not tell us this. We still have about 8 months until the wedding, so we can always take our registry off. That is really bad if they won't take duplicate gifts back! The barcode on the gift should reveal where the item was purchased. I will definitely be checking this out. Thanks for the heads up!

Most people know to get gift receipts.Stores have had to make their policies stricter because some customers were totally abusing the return policies they had. It's not just Target.

That sucks! 11 years ago we got LOTS of cash from returns at Target and other stores when we did a gift registry with them. That was the requirement to get a cash return back then!Congratulations on the up coming event! Remember the wedding is one day the marriage is a life time SO work hard on the marriage and don't sweat the wedding!
