Diapers was the best thing I recieved at my last baby shower(with baby # 3) I was having my third boy so that is really all I needed. I can't remember how many packs of diapers I recieved, or how many hundreds of diapers I recieved but I do remember they lasted eight months.

its alot easier for you to buy bottles and clothes so id put some big (more expensive) things in there, that way all your freinds can pitch in together or something for a great big gift. stroller , car seat , etc

So far one of the best things, and most practical, is the car seat frame that allows you to use your car seat as a stroller. It's very inexpensive and super light weight and easy to use. I love it and it's a Godsend! I haven't had to lug out the big stroller yet!The other thing that my baby loves is the Fisher Price portable swing. She loves it! Register for practical things, no matter what the price. People will ALWAYS buy cute outfits and the other cutsie things but if you don't register for the practical things, you'll wish you had them later! Good luck and congrats!

2 of my friends that had babies made me a laundry basket that had diapers, diaper cream, onesies, nail clippers, baby soap and lotion, wipes, laundry detergent, a few gossip magazines, some candy, chap stick and mints (for labor)....what an awesome gift. When you add it up, it saves you a bunch of money and it';s all stuff you need asap when you have the baby. I loved it and it's my favorite gift to give at showers. Good luck and congrats!!!

Of course the big stuff, crib, stroller, car seat, highchair etc. Don't be afraid to register for this stuff because even if it is too pricey some people will go in on a big gift together. A couple of things I found that I couldn't live without was a vibrating bouncy chair, both my kids loved it! An umbrella stroller. You will want a regular stroller of course for long trips like the mall and stuff, but I keep an umbrella stroller in my car at all times. It really comes in handy for last minute shopping and places where they don't have shopping carts. There was a few things that I registered for because I just thought everyone did and I really didn't get any use out of them. A wipes warmer, a bottle sanitizer (boiling works just the same), and a breast pump (I was planning to breast feed, long story short I didn't and I never used it). A great place to register is Babies R Us. They have EVERYTHING and have good prices. Check out Walmart too. Both places have easy ways to register and the registries are available online. Good luck!

Our best was not on the registry. It was a cute, personalized sign for the nursery that accented the décor. You can see them under "Personalized Art" at: http://www.mysweetandsour.com/ We have twins. We received "Safari Adventures" for Brayden and "Express Train" for Bryan. The boys are 3 now and they love them, and so do we.
