I guess it made it more real for him because people were actually out buying you things. I don't find it weird, we all get excited over different things, especially women and men lol.Congrats on your upcoming nuptials!

You don't have to think the same, you are two people.

To be honest my fiance was the same way. He was not down about filling out our marriage licence thing but he wasn't as excited as I was either. He was a huge wreck at Bed Bath and Beyond when they gave him that little gun to put stuff on the registry. I had to edit it for an hour to get all the stuff we didn't need off of it! lol. He went NUTS with excitement! I think its the "stuff" part more than anything. Its not that they don't want to get married but they just aren't into flowers and cake they are into getting that TV or the super powered shower head they wanted. I don't take it personally I just know that that's him and he'd marry me tomorrow if that's what I wanted. He doesn't care too much about the fuss of a ceremony or reception but they do want to marry us and they DO want the stuff. LOLEDIT: LOL!!! I had to fight him to the ground for it he was NOT giving that thing up without a fight! He put a $200 margarita machine on there! He doesn't even LIKE margarita's!!!

My guy got excited when I suggested fleur de lys as decorations, and is most into what the male members of the family are going to be wearing. He goes on about it more than I do! We're going for our license in three weeks, and he's just looking at it as the annoying paperwork of it all. He sees me as the most real thing about it all, I guess. He loves hearing me plan it all, especially when I start bargain-hunting for wedding elements!

It's a guy thing. My fiance isn't excited about the wedding. I have showed him the favours when they came and the personalised napkins etc etc and he doesn't care. He says he just doesn't get excited about things until the day.So I figure as long as he isn't getting cold feet or second thoughts then I'm not fussed about when he gets excited or what makes it real for him.

It is unusual, but just makes me think the two of you still have a lot of things to discuss about marriage, before the wedding.
