Sending presents home - Australia - UK?

I have the same problem every xmas and birthday with my dad and all his side of the family. I have moved to Australia and they live in Scotland and some in England.I have done the Australia gifts which costs $100 to post i have done the online ordering or wines and chocolate which is delivered to their door, the odd gift which i have found light enough to post... but i am running out of ideas. What do other people do that are in this situation? Ordering online becomes too impersonal after a while and it costs a fotune to mail things, things which i am only buying for the sake of now.Can anyone help? It is my grandfathers 70th soon and i would like some ideas ... thanks!
