We will need to mail the wedding present -- and do not know if it should be a monetary amount (if so, in what currency? Should it be a check? Is there a Hong Kong registry for brides? If so, what is that?

The Bauhinia flower appears on the flag of Hong Kong, do some research into florist that either deliver internationally or locally there and see about sending them an arrangement that include this flower, or another flower native or signifcant to Hong Kong. Just an idea. Good luck.

If you give money, please do not send a check! We live outside the US and got some checks for wedding presents... No one here even knows what a check is... it is a lot of trouble to get them cashed if you dont live in the US and have a US bank account. What would be ideal is, go to your bank and get an even amount of Hong Kong dollars. Its classy, it shows that you went the extra step and were really thinking about them. I would have loved if someone thought to do that for us!I know youre not supposed to put cash in the mail and blah blah blah, but I do it all the time and havent had a problem.
