so...anybody registered at Target for their wedding?Might want to rethink that! Target will NOT allow you to return ANY duplicate gifts w/out a gift reciept,PERIOD. even if your registery print out SHOWS that you have a duplicate purchase, which is their own systems's fault!i'd stick w/registering elsewhere!http://consumerist.com/379174/target-bungles-wedding-registry-wont-exchange-duplicate-gifts-without-receiptsuh...yeah, i've been married for 7 1/2 yrs and have 4 children. i put this in here to WARN ppl after i watched target totally screw up my sister -in-law's registery. their computer didn't take items off that were already bought, so she got 2 and 3 of the same things...and even though she had a register list SHOWING these mistakes she was NOT allowed to extchange them for other items on her registry OR for store credit. see wasn't comfortable asking ppl for a reciept, it seemed rude. it's not the guests fault that target screwed up.and NO most ppl do not put in a gift receipt when they are buying something straight off a wedding registry list. they figure that's what you put on there so that's what you wanted. which is understandable.i just find this policy unnessisary when it comes to registries such as weddings, engagements, or baby showers. Comprende?

well most people include a gift reciept (but i know i tried to exchange a wedding present at target and couldnt because i lost the reciept)we registered at linens and things, bed bath and beyond and target but we asked our family to spread the word that we would prefer cash. and u only put the places where you registure in with the shower invites. so alot of people will just give money as a present at the weddinggood luck and congrats...enjoy the day flys by!

ooo i did register there thanks for reminding me, bc i went to macys and they gave me so many good incentives, 5% back on all registry purchases by your guest and they mail u a gift card. also they give you 10-20% shopping at macys all the time. i like the store 10 times better.

that policy is the SAME at wal-mart too. Macy's is a better bet for doing a registry.

I registered at Macy's and Target. My wedding is still 2 weeks away, but so far I have gotten several gifts off my Target registry (shipped from Target.com) and they have all had a gift receipt included. So hopefully I won't have that problem.

Thanks for the tip. We are registered at Bed, Bath and Beyond and Lowe's since we are doing home improvements. We have two of everything so it's been hard to register, but I suffered through it.

I registered at a local kitchen store, Wal-mart, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Target. I had the same problem with Target! We had several duplicates and they refused to take them back or even give us in-store credit (due to a similar malfunction you mentioned at one of the locations people purchased from). We also had an issue with one item being broken after it was purchased online from our registry, and once again we had problems! I would recommend your suggestion to register elsewhere. I also would not recommend Bed Bath and Beyond. I still receive junk from them!
