Ok i'm a freshman in college, and this good friend of mine who lives local to me asked me if I'd want to go to the prom with her. i hesitantly replied yes, but i'm going just as friends. So do you think, with me going as friends, I still should give her flowers/a gift come prom night? Because I know flowers indicate romance and i'm friends with her, i don't want a relationship with her, so I don't wanna give her the wrong impression, yet I don't wanna hurt her feelings in not giving her anything. What should I do?

Give her flowers. Just becuase you dont like her that doesnt give you an excuse to dumb down her prom. She will only get one, might as well make her feel special for one night. If she reads into it later explain that you were just being cordial and the flowers were more of a thank you gift for the invite.

Give her flowers. Diffrent flowers have diffrent meanings, for example if you gave her red roses that would indicate you want romance, but if you gave pink or yellow roses than it would be fine. Or you could get her a diffrent type of flower.

You could give her roses, I'm not sure but I think yellow roses indicate friendship, I don't know-she may know. You could probably look them up on the Internet, but there are different types of flowers that mean different things, red roses obviously is for romance.

You need to get her a corsage (a.k.a. flowers) even if you are just going as friends, at least in my experience. If it is not traditional at her school to get flowers, then I suppose you wouldn't have to, but I would say 99% of the time you should. I'm not quite sure what you mean by "gift" but no one I knew received a gift for prom. Hopefully she knows this is just as friends and if that is the case, you should not worry. Good luck.

give her flowers n chocolate..place a note onto da pressie..to indicate it jst 4 fwendsit would be kindda slack not to give a present if ur gonna pick her up from her house..n she noes ur just fwends..so i dun fink shell get any impressionsLOLSgood luck=)

ya you definatly should get her flowers, girls remember their proms forever!!! She knows your going as her friend and even prom dates going as friends get flowers, i went with my friend as friends to a prom

You should give her something. I have no idea what, but maybe talk to someone close to her, a friend or sibling and find out what she would consider a thoughtful gift from a friend and what would have more serious implications.It's traditional for the guy to give the girl a coursage to wear to the prom, but make sure she will accept it at face value first.

Why not get her a simple corsage? It's a traditional gesture, so it shouldn't send any romantic signals. Yet, it will still say, "I care enough about you as a friend to make this a wonderful night for you."

Maybe a pretty non-expensive necklace that will go nicely with her dress, or a beautiful corsage with flowers that have the same colors of her dress.
