It makes sense if someone was joking around, but in reality, I think that is kind of an inappropriate gift to be giving a expectant mother. Not only do emotions and hormones run high, but the thought of using a paddle on your child is somewhat crazy and psychotic to a mother to be- especially for a first time mother. Now if they are close friends and joke about that sort of thing, maybe it would be more acceptable.
