|
|
I am trying to think of gifts for the kids in my wedding party. There are two junior bridesmaids ages 8 & 10 who are sisters, their 6 year old brother who is the ringbearer, and my 4 year old niece who is the flower girl. I was thinking Build-A-Bear giftcards for the girls, but wasn't sure how much would be a good ammount so they could build their own bear and get some clothing for it. I'm stuck on the boy, he's very boy-ish, I don't think he'd like a Build-A-Bear giftcard, so maybe Toys R Us? I'm trying to give them giftcards so they can go and pick out what they'd like. I'm also giving them personalized totes and flip flops for them to wear at the reception. Any ideas would help! Thanks!

I like the Build-A-Bear idea, except that if it were me I would go and get the bears made for them instead of gift cards. You could go and make a bear that suits the child's interests and personality. And I think they would appreciate it just at much. Because they are so young, with a gift card, you are basically putting the responsibility of buying a gift on their parents.

I think the totes and flipflops are enough, honestly. I'm sure they have tons of toys and other things. Maybe get them each a nice picture frame to put a photo of them with the bride (or another shot from the wedding) so they'll have a wonderful keepsake.

I think the Build-a-Bear idea is great! You might be surprised on getting a bear for the ring bearer. There are actually very boy-ish things they can get there too (sports outfits and such). If you're still stuck on ideas for him, I'd ask his parents. As a suggestion, go to the store yourself and see what the price would be for a bear and an outfit. Then, take the children on an outing to get their bears rather than getting a gift card. You'll be able to give them your gift and be able to watch them make their bears (very fun to watch!).Good luck!

I like your idea. I think that even the boy would enjoy it. They have boy related things there and it doesn't have to be a bear...they offer many animals.Check these out!http://www.buildabear.com/shop/browsecategory.aspx?CallingPage=BrowseCategory&Category=Sportshttp://www.buildabear.com/shop/browsecategory.aspx?CallingPage=BrowseCategory&Category=HDhttp://www.buildabear.com/shop/browsecategory.aspx?Category=Dinohttp://www.buildabear.com/shop/productdetail.aspx?ProductSKU=10632_12837_12838_12854_12827&Category=fashion&CallingPage=ProductSummary

For the boy, a cool Lego set or car model. When my son was four he was a ring bearer and got one of those huge Tonka vehicles, and he was overjoyed!

I got them personalized totes with their names and then filled the totes with toys. Like for the flower girls, I got them the wedding barbie and a couple of other things. Gift cards are kinda..well my four year old would be like...what is this? It's up to you. Do what you want.

What a great idea! I do somewhat agree about getting them made for them instead of the gift card though, makes it a little more special...or what if you take them to do it either before the wedding or after the honeymoon, a little bonding time. Also an idea for the flower girl-a friend of mine put a little bag of small candies and treats at the bottom of the flower basket and didn't tell the flower girl until right before she walked down the aisle. It encouraged her to actually drop the petals to get to the bag and also kept her occupied during the ceremony! Happy wedding!

Or you could buy bears with personalized panties like these http://www.universityfashions.com/examples.php?cat1=teddy_bears but that might be too girly for the boy.All I know is that I got an embroidered bear of their site for my girlfriend ( I can't even remember what it said...Her name <space> A Beary Special...?) and now we are married with a daughter and a son on the way. :)Good Luck!
