She is registered at a few places but most of the stuff is either really expensive or I am left with the choice of buying towels. This is only a shower gift. I still have to buy her a wedding gift a well. HELP!!

get the towels! Dont spend a ton of money, you are already going to have to on all the other duties and gifts. She will understand!

In my area it's traditional for the bridesmaids to get lingerie and other similar items, which get opened last, after all the registry items.

Get the towels she registered for. Put them in a new laundry basket, wrap with tulle and a pretty bow and you are set. Don't put yourself in hock for a present.

My Maid of Honor threw a beautiful shower for me, so I didn't expect anything. But she took a bunch of pictures at the shower, and she is making me a scrapbook with pictures, the invitation, and some other things from the shower. She had all the guest write a little note of encourangment of wedding or relationship advice, and is putting it in the scrapbook too. Although I love all my gifts from my shower, I truly treasure this one, because its made with love and really captures the special day with memories for years to come.

You buy what you would like from where you would like. If you can get her something she wants elsewhere from where she is registered, do so. If you see something that she would like that is not on her list, you can buy it. Lists are just suggestions. You can always get her a gift card too. Also, if you purchase a shower gift, you do not have to purchase a wedding gift.

As the MOH, you should give a little more expensive gift. I wouldn't embarrass myself. I would buy something nice (a toaster, vacuum cleaner, microwave oven, good set of stainless steel flatware, everyday china set, or bath set like you said, as if you buy the whole set, it will cost you over $100. Buy something nice, even if you have to put it on your credit card. For a wedding gift, I would give cash. Say $100 or $150 according to where you live. East Coast is most expensive, mid west, less expensive and west coast, moderate.

If you're going to get towels I would get embroidered / monogrammed towels. Or maybe a monogrammed robe if you are willing to spend around $40. I would try http://www.universityfashions.com/custom-apparel/towels.html if you plan to go the personalized route. I've had much success with them in the past.
