|
|
| I know the bridal shower you normally give gifts from the registry and typically money for the couple for the wedding but I have never heard of giving gifts at the bachelorette party until I came here to YA. Is this regional or am I just out of the loop somewhere? My sister who is my MOH is planning my bachelorette party and all of us girls are getting together for dinner and going out for drinks on the town. That's it. Why would you give gifts for the bachelorette party? I thought it was just a fun night out with the girls before your wedding. Am I just clueless?...I thought I did all my research on etiquette and traditions but I am lost on this one...HmmmmLB- I think the pictures sound nice, but I keep seeing posts about giving the bride gifts for the bachelorette party. That is what I mean giving the bride gifts. I think giving everyone a favor bag is fine, just don't understand the gift giving.Well I get the naughty gag gifts, it just seemed people were buying normal gifts like they would for a wedding. I kept seeing people mention, I had to buy a shower gift, wedding gift and a gift for the bachelorette party. So the gag gifts ok but maybe I interpreted what peeps were saying as in gifts.Oops I mean misinterepreted < sp? |

| I don't know about practical gifts, but there are often joke-items given to the bachelorette. Lots of phallic-shaped objects, trashy lingerie, dirty games, etc.But I agree, giving any REAL gift seems kind of silly for a bachelorette party! |

| Everyone is different and so are the regions of the world. Personally - I gave the girls from my bachelorette party a CD of all the pictures from our weekend away! My MOH also made up little "goodie bags" for all the girls to take home. (penis straw, candie necklace, stickers, pins, candy) |

| It's not customary, but you get a lot of gag gifts as mentioned by someone else. It's usually all the kinky stuff deemed too inappropriate for the bridal shower.I wouldn't go register for it or anything. |

| It is probably regional or just something among different groups of friends. My niece gave a bachelorette party/lingerie shower for a friend of hers. They did bring gifts, but it was clear that it was a shower AS WELL as a party. Personally, if I was invited to a Bachelorette Party, I wouldn't take a gift unless someone clued me in that it was expected..... |

| I have never heard of giving gifts at a bachelorette party either until I came on YA. It seems a little much to buy a shower gift, a wedding gift and a bachelorette gift. |
