| First understand that you can buy the gift in Ukraine. They have the same stores as you have in your country. There is a tax levied at Ukraine Customs in the airport that can be as high as 47% of the purchase/value of the gift. What to buy? Your choice of course. I would give anything but money. For some insight to a traditional Ukraine wedding, look at the link. |

Hi!!! I live in Ukraine and I can tell you what are the traditional presents in here. As a rule some of guests present some plates, dishes and other crockery, but it`s gonna be a big problem for you with transportation + tastes differ, so you can`t be sure whether they`d like it. Also you can present them with some souvenir which in a week will be somewhere in the garage. By the way - advice about funny present is good, but our senses of humor are a bit different, so be careful. Also you can buy DVD-player, computer or some other technique. So, I think, that if you don`t know for sure what they need - give them money and they will choose what to buy by themselves. And trust me 70% of guests will present money too. Another way out is to ask bride`s parents what to buy - they know it. Anyway, here in Ukraine we have rather good malls and markets (in cities), so you can buy everything here, but technique is much cheaper in the USA.I hope I helped you at least a bit. Good luck with choosing a present |
