personally i wouldn't have taken it out.. and she should not have made you do it!!!you could have said, well, i think this one is reallly cute and i think it'll go perfectly with my baby's room, i'll just leave it on for now and see, if anyone gets it for me, then all the better, if no one gets it, then i'll just use the one my SIL gave me... then left it at that.. see if you can add it back on... if they ask about it, you can answer them, it's not their business deciding on your baby registry!

Dealing with in-laws can be very difficult and quite frustrating at times. Although it was very thoughtful of your SIL to give you her lamp, you should still be able to put that other lamp on your registry...I mean it is YOUR baby. I'm not saying to "screw them" or anything because that may jeopardize your relationship with your in-laws and you don't want things to be awkward....If I were you, I would put it back on my registry and if they ask about it, just tell them this lamp matches your nursery better...

Put it back on the registry, your MIL is not the boss of you. Plus I would wait until your SIL is having another kid and give back her lamp. Good luck and congrats!

oh hell no. put it BACK on your registry...twice. And make sure you send a little card to MIL letting her know its on there. Its YOUR registry, not hers. and no one says you HAVE to use that lamp, id put it in the bathroom...just to be a bee-yotch. Im only saying this because im in LOVE with the lamp i picked out and if anyone told me to take it off my registry because i got some ugly white lamp with fluffs on it for a boys room (ahem, mil) id be pissed off and really vengeful. Ive gotten mean in my pregnancy, i swear. You put what YOU want for YOUR baby on YOUR registry. Sorry about the B*tch move on the SIL And MILs part. lame!
