I started working with a girl about 4 months ago and have become good friends with her and her fiance. They invited me to their wedding, but I am unable to attend for two reasons. One, it's Mother'sDay weekend and two, it's in TX and I live in NJ. In any case, I have her parents address and wanted to send a "good luck" gift down to her/them, but I would like it to be something other than flowers... boring! If anyone has any good ideas or received gifts from people unable to attend, I'd appreciate the help. Thanks |

| A Gift Card sounds boring but most likely, the couple can probably use it. |

| I would find out where the couple is registered. Many times you can get a gift card for that store. Also some places will either ship an item off the registry, or even let you buy it at one store and let them pick it up at their local store. |

| Can you possibly find out if they are honeymooning directly after the wedding? If they are, and you can find out where they are staying, contact the hotels concierge service and ask to have a bottle of champagne , glasses, chocolate etc... waiting for them in their room, with a note wishing them well from you. I know most hotels do this for a couples first night, as part of a honeymoon package, so how about trying for a few days into the trip? Also, you could see about purchasing a gift card for a restaurant in the area for dinner on you, and have the hotel hold it for them until they get there. |
