Also, she wants to know if you should give everyone who attends the shower a gift bag?

I went to the Christmas Tree Shop (a higher end dollar store- nice things cheap!) and bought enough gifts for everyone...we made sure everyone left with a little something!

Check Big Lots and places like that, you can get pretty vases, picture frames and such for really cheap. For my sister's shower I found a vase for like $5 and the girl who won it almost didn't want to accept the "expensive" prize. LOLYou don't have to do gift bags for everyone, and if you don't want to you could just do small favors instead. Decorated sugar cookies in cellophane are cute, and they can eat them. How many people really keep those little baby bottle favors forever?Another shower I went to gave candles in a jar to each guest. But there were only like 10 guests and they didn't do games or prizes.

Candles are always nice and you can get inexpensive ones at the Dollar Store, and I'm throwing another baby shower at the end of this month and I'm going to an Outlet Mall that is near my area and buying those little Bath and Body Works Lotions and Sprays, they are 5 for $5!! I'm putting a body spray with the matching lotion so $2 for each gift and I think they are awesome gifts!! =) Hope that helps!

This is something my mom did for mine, and it was a BIG hit: We had a flower theme with lots of greenery and flowers. She went to a local nursery, and got a couple flats of flowers. She picked different, pretty colours. She then went to the dollar store and bought little cups to place them in and tied a little ribbon around them. She gave these away as little prizes. Some of the prizes she also made a little gift bag with a little spade and some seeds. She also bought larger plants to decorate the tables as centerpieces, and she raffled them away at the end.You can get really creative, and you don't have to buy cheapo knick knacks that no one ever wants :p

yes, proper etiquette when throwing a shower is to usually give a thank you gift at the end.. my mother in law handed out little winne the pooh boxes of pink candy for favors but you can use just about anything... as for prizes.. one of the prizes my mother in law used was the center pieces... another couple of prizes was different sized wicker baskets full of different things... one was soaps and bath stuff, another one was candles and another one was kitchen items. But you can use anything as a prize... a calendar, a candle, a gift certificate, a stationary set....
