|
|
| when i was 6, i begged my dad & step-mom for a barbie ferrari. (for christmas)my sister got the barbie ferrari, and i got a cheapie semi-barbie car that was orange, had paint coming off of it, a half broken door, and clearly came from the flea market or something.i would have been appreciative, but when my sister right next to me opens up a brand new barbie ferrari, and never even asked for one, yeah, i'm still a little spiteful about the situation.especially since she was 3 and i was 6. or maybe i was 7 and she was 4.don't you think that was a horrible thing for them to have done? what father or step-mother in their right mind would do something like that? I'm 28 now, and it still burns me sometimes, especially cause they're still jack offs at times. i have a hard time believing that it wasn't done on purpose, but i also have a hard time accepting that my own dad would have allowed something like that to happen. but it doesn't make sense. what do you think? |

| I think they should have given YOU the Barbie Ferrari. I also think it isn't too late to tell them about it and get it off your chest. ;)Good Luck! |

| Are you sure they did it on purpose? I have had it happen before when I am wrapping gifts and put the wrong name on the tag. Then the person opens it and if they are excited about it, you can't say "wait - that was supposed to be your sister's barbie ferrari!", so they just let her have it. My guess is that both cars were meant for you because who would by a 3 year old a barbie car? |

| If that is the one and only instance of poor treatment from your parents, I think you're doing well and need to let it go. |

| Your dad was probably oblivious to the situation. Most step-moms are evil. I know mine was. Her daughter was an angel no matter how many bad things she did. I was a devil child even though I rarely did anything wrong and I was always sucking up to try to stay out of trouble. I don't talk to my step mom anymore. |

| That was a pretty thoughtless thing for them to do. Do you think maybe they got the parcels mixed up and put the wrong names on them? Anyway, dont blame your sister for this as it wasnt her fault. |

| idk..doesn't seem fair. when i turned 14 my little sister begged for my family to go to chuckie cheese's to celebrate my birhtday. i wanted to go to the movies. guess where we went? yeah. hello freaking mouse. well anyway the best thing to do is to forgive and move on. it seems like you've been holding on to this for way too long. |

| i feel anger towards your parents and sad for you after reading that - but then again, it may seem like a trivial thing to get so upset about. something like that happened to me before, and yes, it's still ingrained in my mind and it burns me up sometimes. |

| you need to accept itmaybe it wasn't on accident, but your an adult in a way you should be grateful that you learned that lesson because you know how upsetting that is so you wouldnt do that to your children |

could have been soo many thingsYour Dad probably had no ideas about what to get you and step mom was the evil behind the "gift switch"or they were both so caught up in other things that selfishly they thought it was your sister that asked for the car.either way its not because you didn't deserve one or that they didn't love you. they were just selfish idiots caring only about themselves. You are an adult now and you make your own life and happiness*gift for you*(barbie Ferrari) |
