I would start with food and let the women chit chat for a while, then do the games, presents, cake.

I would get the invitations ready and sent out first, and then the rest of it can be done anytime after that. Make sure to order the food if you are going to a few days ahead of time so that there are no problems-including the cake. Gifts can be last minute or bought way ahead of time.Sorry! I spaced out and misunderstood the question!!2-3 gamesFood1-2 gamesGiftsTalkGo homeA game you can play is "Do you have it?" This game is basically a list that you write up of random stuff, you call it out and if a person has the item you called out in their purse, diaper bag or pocket they get a small prize. Smell the diaper is another game. Buy some newborn diapers and put stuff in them that has a strong smell. People guess as to what is in the diaper and the ones who got them all right get a prize. That's better lol. No more spacing out!

I would start with eating and mingling first just in case anyone is late and to ease any tension, then go to games, gifts and cake! Or you could start with games, gifts, eating, and cake. It's really up to you and since your the hostess it's basically up to you anyway!

I would have the food out before the guests arrived then games, cake and then gifts. The guests can be eating cake while your cousins girlfriend is opening the gifts.

I have done about 10 baby showers in the past 3 years, so I speak from experience. We played games throughout the shower--one before we ate--then one after. I would let everyone eat early on. Then have your mom-to-be open presents (you can even play a Gift BINGO while she opens them so the guests have something to do) and then serve cake after the presents are opened. It's a good, smooth operation so it doesn't feel like it is dragging-and believe me, if you have a lot of people at this event, the gift opening can seem like FOREVER. Good luck!

i would do cake before gifts. people usually get bored so cake would be something for them to do and it will keep them quiet! you can keep them busy by playing gift bingo too. also, cake before gifts because a lot of people tend to sneak out after their gift is opened...crappy, but it happens a lot.
