To buy for you instead of doing it yourself? Is a bridal registry or a baby registry just like begging people to hopefully buy the gift for you instead of buying it yourself?

No its not. Some people dont know what you need unless they look at your registry. Like with babies, people dont want to say ohh Im getting you so and so for your baby shower. They look on a registry and then pick out something. I think if you have one for every one of your kids its a little like begging BUT def NOT for the 1st kid. Bridal registrys are the same. Its not begging.

No a registery is letting people know the things you need because otherwise some people have a hard time deciding what to get because they have no clue what you still need. Like say you already have a highchair well then you wouldn't put it on your registery so they would realize you must have one and you don't need it. It isn't begging or demanding anything. The way it works is you have the baby shower and have the registery then when everything is done you will know what else you need to buy. People really do like having an idea of what to get someone especially if they don't know them all that well.

no, because most people are going to bring you a bridal or baby gift when coming to a party (just traditional). I like registries because it tells me exactly what people want, if someone has already bought it for them, and it takes out the worry of wondering if they person is going to like the gift.

no, it gives them a guide to go by as to what to buy, and helps keep several people from buying the same gift and you having to return or trade it.

Not at all. Generally for a baby shower or wedding people bring gifts. It is much easier if people know what your taste are or what you need. I am sure you heard about people back in the day receiving 25 toasters as a wedding gift. The bride and groom have to go around returning 24 toasters. How many times did a mother to be have to return items from her baby shower?I think the baby registry is awesome. I had one when I was pregnant and family and friends have also used one. It is so nice when you can walk in the store and know exactly what they want/need. You know how they are decorating the room. Not everyone uses a baby or wedding registry. There is nothing saying you HAVE to. It just makes things more simple.

No not at all, when I go to these types of parties even if I know the person I still have a hard finding things for other people If there is a wish list at least I know what I am getting them that they really want so I dont have to think I'm wasting my time buying something that will be returned
