I vote for number 3 . . . so they can put it toward something needed for their new home.

I say #2 or #3 (more toward #3 than #2).I had a friend who received a hand-made quilt from a family friend with their names & wedding date on it; 10 years later, I ended up with the quilt because they were divorced and she didn't want the blanket anymore. I'm not saying (or even implying) that your sib will divorce; but you can never discount any possibility. I would have never in a million years expected my friend and her husband to split, either.

Either #1 or #2 - I think it's important that you select and present your sibling with a gift (not a gift card) - this is a special day for them and having a tangible item that you selected and presented to them would mean much more. I remember when I got married, my brother gave me a beatiful set of wine glasses (which I still have) and an antique pottery crock (something new, something old) - which my son now has. I think of my brother every time I use the wine glasses.

If you have a sentimental sibling, I'd say the picture frame - I love the idea of etching the invitation on the back. However, if your sibling is not so sentimental, I'd say the gift card would be best.

I would do the wedding afgan, it is a personal touch that they will be able to use and not traded in at a store. It shows that your a thinker and think about the gift and just not buy anything...

I think most people give money and/or gift cards as a wedding present. The frame will show you put the thought, time and effort into your gift. Props for the etching being an exact replica of their invitation; EXTRA props for putting a "temporary" picture and buying them a picture of their choice from their photographer.

I would go with either #1 or #2. But that is because I like that sort of keepsake stuff.

ok here is my opinion since i just got married last year and my sister is getting married in less then a month.i would personally prefer the picture with the etched invitation-because it is more personal and it would mean something to me.. leave the gift card to people that don't know what to get your sibiling... even though it is nice to get $$ and gift cards i feel that it is VERY impersonal.

Number 3. I am sure she will keep an invitation and many other things as momentos so adding another would kind of be pointless. It sounds nice the frame with the invite etched but really just another momento. The afghan is ok but they are not usually something they can actually use, it will be wrapped up in a storage box or just laid at the bottom of the bed for display collecting dust. So for me the most useful thing would be the gift card and whatever they decide to use it for, they will think of you when they do. Momentos are thoughtful and nice but they can get overwhelming with weddings. Many people want to give frames and engravables when really a new couple will already have a ton of these from the wedding itself. I think the most useful and practible would be a gift card!
