Has anyone ever recieved anything personalized for the baby at a baby shower? For instance I know that someone had a bib made for our baby and it says "lucas" Which originally we were going to name our baby... but now for some unknown reason my husband has decided he hates it. I'm hurt because he doesn't like it.. but it makes it worse that I'm going to be opening gifts with "lucas" on them... just makes it worse for me.. because I know I can't name him that when my husband hates it... :'(

I didn't get anything personalized for my baby until after he was born. I think people know how names can change really quickly and wont personalize things until it's set in stone.

I didnt get anything personalised so I cant say I know whatcha mean.. but talk it over with your husband.. Maybe he'll like Luke, instead of Lucas.. so name him Lucas, but call him Luke for short?

no that hasnt happened to me.did your husband tell you why he hates the name?? beforei was pregnant it was decided that if we had a boy his name would be zachary. ive always loved the name. my husband was fine with it, then 1/2 way thorugh my pregnancy after everyone knew it was a boy and knew the name he decided he didnt like it so much. never gave me a reason behind it. after talking more, we decided to stick with zachary. i just couldnt see myself with a michael or steven. if we have another boy at some point he wants to name him. im a little scared about that because he comes up wth some pretty off the wall names. or namesi just cant stand. like isaac or ivan. hopefully we have a girl next.

Yes, embrodered stuff for my daughter the day she was born. A guy I dated fell in "love" (lust is the key word) quick and tattooed my name on his wrist!

For my first son, I received an angel ornament that had "Tyler" on it. (He was due 2 days after Christmas--but I had him the 17th). I think you need to be REALLY sure about the name and if someone is going to buy you something personalized then they should ask you. Or maybe they can buy it and have it engraved later. I hope you & your hubby agree soon and congrats on your pregnancy!
