|
We were expecting our first child, but I went into labor early and our son passed away 2 hours after he was born on 12/30/07. Our funds are limited as we're moving into a new house in early July. We celebrated modestly for Mother's Day, but I would like to do something very special for him, he's been an amazing man. He was so looking forward to his first Father's Day. He's a guy's kind of guy. The kind of guy you'd be so proud to take home to your very picky father.. He's successful, intelligent, and even smells so good with out being too Metrosexual Any creative ideas for a small gift or something nice I can do for him?Thank you all so much for your condolences... It may seem weird to people who haven't walked down this path, but we do still consider ourselves parents... just "parents of a different kind". We still love him, cry over him, and smile over him. Since we can't do the things we wanted to do with him on Earth, we work really hard at making sure other kids can have some of the things he would have had -- especially when it comes to education... we set up a scholarship fund in his name. He's still looking forward to Father's Day, just as I did Mother's Day. This might be the only child we'll ever give birth to. (Just prior to becoming pregnant, I had Ovarian Cancer and don't have much of an ovary left, it was a miracle we even got pregnant between that and PCOS!) I'm very good about giving hubby praises and compliments. But, it has been a while since I had a heart felt confession of how much he means to me and how much respect I have for him. Think he'd like that?? |

| Are you sure he feels comfortable with it. Well if he does then maybe you get him a nice plaque they run at about 20 bucks and you can personalize some of them. |

| A nice card or letter acknowledging what a great father he is going to be 'when the time is right'. My heart goes out to both of you and it's really good that you're both talking about it and looking to the future.A sexy outfit and telling him all those amazing things you enjoy about him would be great too! |

| Damn this question made me cry. So sorry for your loss. Not sure about what to do for a gift. Just be there for him. This is going to be a really rough day for him. As I'm sure mother's day was for you. Wishing you both all the best in the future. |
